The IWC could stand to listen to this. It's one thing to be critical of what you're watching while still enjoying it. It's quite another to only watch something every week specifically to hate on it/the people in it. I don't know of any other fandom that does that to the same degree the IWC does.

Great thread, but i really love this point. This lack of curiosity is also what creates Formula Guys. A lot of fans struggle to see wrestling as art, so they make up numbers to "prove" what they like is best. Instead of just dissecting what they like and figuring out what others do differently.

The hard wall for wrestling fans is they need a way to break past repeating podcast talking points. "Why don't you like X company?" "There are no stories!! They just do big moves!" like idk before you can say anything like that you need to be able to describe how the thing you like is any different

Game fans need to learn to be uncomfortable, and wrestling fans need to learn to love. 😔

It's so funny I saw this and was kinda going to push back against it a bit but then I realized it was about wrestling and lol no, wrestling fans cannot be trusted to watch things they hate "but in a thoughtful way". They can barely be trusted to watch things they like. Avoid things that hurt you!!
