Voters don't swing from Democrat to Republican, They swing from Democrat to couch.
pinned post!
If i were running a campaign for president as a democrat I would run it on these three issues: 1) Manhattan Project for Housing 2) Voting Rights Restoration 3) Medicare For All

The matter-of-fact way she asks what investors should do if Trump destroys Iran. Absolutely wild. "Let's talk about tonight, this deadline that President Trump has set 8 p.m., has threatened to destroy a civilization. How does an investor process that? Is it a bigger upside risk or downside risk?"

Late last week I heard a report that said this would amount to about a dollar a barrel on the largest ships.

For comparison, the JCPOA ('Iran Deal') payment that everyone in MAGA excoriates was $1.7bn. The $2m-per-ship toll regime on the Strait would generate at normal traffic something like $40bn *each year* for Iran (120 ships per day at $2m per split 50/50 with Oman).

Just thinking how Trump and MAGA media spent the past decade mocking Obama for sending $1.8 billion to Iran as part of the JCPOA. Now Iran gets $2 million (split with Oman) for every ship that passes through the Strait of Hormuz. Before Iran closed it, 135 ships a day sailed through the strait.

Starmer said he wouldn't allow the US to launch attacks on Iranian infrastructure from UK military bases, but B52 bombers took off from RAF Fairford a few hours ago and Iranian infrastructure is currently being bombed by Israel. Whatever happens next, Starmer is an accomplice.

Democrats could have been running on an impeachment platform for the last 18 months. But because centrist leadership is extremely stupid and short-sighted... They have crushed any efforts to run on impeachment. over a YEAR of wasted political narrative building. So stupid

Yeah and I think the big disconnect is that people can't comprehend it. Why would the liberal media not be screaming and yelling about this guy debasing the office of president to this degree? And the answer is, I reckon "because that would be admitting it's possible."

One of the things to remember when seeing things like this, is that the media political establishment can only conceive of problems that are soluble by the solutions they approve of. If something is intractable within the bounds of Business As Usual, they will simply pretend that's not true.

It's so perfectly American to have "free speech" protected from the government But at the same time private TOS prevents discussion about how to resolve political questions surrounding the American President. My speech doesn't feel very free today.

Under international law, "genocide" is such a fraught term because it requires showing 'dolus specialis,' or proof that perpetrators specifically aimed to destroy a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group. Trump or someone on Trump's team intentionally crafted this to meet that standard.

This "by their own stated goals" approach to responding to the right from the right is so appealing to scriblers but as politics is utterly useless and silly. It pretends a world where conservatives were ever honest. The thing is they lie from the beginning. So their stated goals are lies

One of the reasons I was against the Democrats who put out that " You can refuse illegal orders" Video is because now that we're in this war... You've set the predicate that if the military is doing it, it must not be illegal Because otherwise they would have refused the orders.

If the US does this, the appropriate response is a united global armed response to depose the American government and dismantle its military. This won't happen but its what *should* happen

I know this is not the main point... But it was always so infuriating to me that media would accept " well I'm not going to tell you what I'm going to do like a stupid person" from Trump. And then all he does is tell you what he'll do. Just openly repeatedly constantly
