The thing you need to understand is that there are 2 (TWO) different method for amending the constitution 1) The process laid out in the constititon itself (conventions, or 2/3's of both houses followed by 3/4 of states ratifying) OR 2) find five votes on the Supreme Court.

Kavanaugh is openly inviting Congress to end birthright citizenship--something which he has just said that he does not believe is a Constitutional right--by legislation, and making it clear that if he is still around he'll uphold it. If they do, I would expect him to be with a majority which does.

Notably, FOUR justices would have rewritten the Constitution by fiat. Kavanaugh only concurred because he thinks the law Congress passed in the 1950s granting birthright citizenship governs the case, but he thinks Congress could eliminate birthright citizenship along Trump's lines if they wanted.

Between this and Justice Alito’s no-show on the bench today, I am not having a good feeling about what is in the works.

Today was an absolute blood bath at SCOTUS for the less powerful to enforce civil rights in the federal courts. TL;dr - SCOTUS rules 6-3 that only corporations have rights that are enforceable in federal court??

The facts of this case are bad. County wrongly claimed family owed $2,000 in taxes, foreclosed on the home, and sold a house it assessed at $190K for just $76K and tried (unsuccessfully) to keep all $76K. Screwed a family out of tens of thousands to collect $2,000 that they didn't actually owe.
