Related to my last post... I'm putting together some moodboards. Got a strong Circus one already and going to do my fantasy steampunk one next. Where is the best place to look for inspo pics that won't get me a bunch of AI slop? Pinterest is totally unusable now :( thank you!

I think as a GM I'm happiest when I have curated and prepared a space for the players to role-play with each other. My favourite sessions involve the characters having lots of emotions at each other, while I occasionally turn the screws and increase the pressure.

Back in the Forge days, and I still see it occasionally, there was a story that in our games we were disempowering the GM because we'd had bad experiences with viking hat GMs in our pasts. It's not at all true! Our bad experiences were AS GMs.

When designing special moves/special abilities your goal is to make them all amazing... and cruelly restrict the player to only choosing 1-2 of them. That has been Day 2 of my writing week by the way ;)

It's commonplace now to see advice for DMs like "check in with your players to see if they're having fun," but I don't think I've seen a single instance of players being encouraged to check in to see if the DM is having a good time.

I have a question for my #ttrpg fam! What ttrpg best communicates the vibes and setting through its writing (not art!)? I realised how much I love the bits of fiction in Unknown Armies 2e, how it immediately gave me a strong sense of the world as the players might see it. What does it for you?
