Alien Earth is not good. Plagued with contemporary narrative over-redundancy: everything is over explained in the dialogue, there are 10 parallel narratives that you don't really need for the story to move on. One thing researchers struggle understanding is that they are usually interested in knowing the probability of their hypothesis given the data P(h|d), while a p-value tells them the probability of the data given a nil hypothesis P(d|h0).

New pre-print from my PhD student Michael Cameron reporting on a pre-reg study showing how individuals are consistent and unique when choosing lex/gram variants, which is evidence for individual entrenchment (with implications for forensic linguistics).

Most difficult part of the textbook I am writing for the stats course I teach: Introducing statistical modelling and regression in a sensible way... There is quite a jump in complexity from the previous topic (data viz).
