Anyone have experience with a good eink tablet for reading and notes? I’m trying a Boox Note Air and I can’t decide if I like it. Adding a paper-like cover to my iPad fixed a lot of my complaints with that but also like the idea of eink being easier on my eyes over long reading sessions.

I'm not convinced of this. I think it's notable that Miller is finally getting more public scrutiny here. Trump may be a garden variety anti-immigrant politician, but I think a lot of this falls apart if Miller goes down with Noem. He's clearly the driving force behind the most unpopular policies.

That Noem did not have the good sense or foresight to not uncritically parrot Weird Stephen’s incendiary language about a murder victim is maybe a good sign that she is not qualified for her position as head of one of the most powerful federal agencies.

The problems with the US are structural. A decade ago we were already looking at problems rooted in one party’s move towards militant unilateralism. Those problems have grown exponentially and the Republican Party has at best, shown a strong tolerance if not outright enthusiasm for these polices.

I've been meaning to check on this for a while but kept getting sidetracked. Anyway, the US has had a continual US military presence in Greenland since 1950. In the early Cold War years it was pretty big. Even in more recent years it's one of the highest percentile deployment locations.

I often think of the lengths the actual military goes to in many cases to avoid negative publicity in host environments, like not wearing uniforms for fear that a basic traffic accident involving a service member could spark an international incident. The wartime attire is definitely a choice.
