Usually, I start by brain dumping everything I can think of into a physical notebook. Then I organize it into an outline like shape in Plottr, starting with major plot points and then filling in what happens in between. The I use Aeon Timeline to put dates on everything.

Huge shoutout to Plottr. Their program helps with outlining and character and setting plans and other fun stuff and works way better than Scrivener. But I had the 1st version and my computer updated it to an incompatible one and they worked for hours to fix my issue. #WritingCommunity #HorrorWriting

I use Plottr! I got it because it was the only one I had found that lets you customize both the horizontal and vertical part of the timeline, which I really needed because of how complicated plotting this fic is. It's very customizable for different people's needs, though.

Just downloaded the Plottr free trial yesterday and I'm lowkey obsessed. Logically I know I can do the same thing in Excel or Word but for some reason the layout makes it feel like a fun board game I'm trying to finish. Someone neurospicy is responsible for this. 🤣🤗

I use Joplin for writing. It's a notetaking app that syncs across my PC, Chromebook and phone. Makes it handy for writing on the go. For editing, I use ProWritingAid. Plottr is my tool for plotting & planning.

I default to MS Word because it is the easiest writing program I've used. I can highly recommend Plottr for both outlining and character profiles. To share with beta readers I make a PDF and share it via Dropbox or in a direct message/email.

I use Plottr software for my outlines and am learning how to use their templates to test mine in the way you describe. Once written, I’ll put my manuscript in Fictionary to ensure the plot line works and I don’t stray off hitting the main beats during edits. #PretendPanel #WritingCommunity

What I REALLY want is a giant wall covered with twine and photos and names scribbled on multicolored cards. Also, a giant white board that I can flip over and dramatically erase and say, "Ok, but hear me out on this..." This would get me banned from the house though, so Plottr is great for now.

Oh gawd it’s time to start a new file in Plottr again 🥴 Once I finish the synopses for each POV character, I start plotting these out into chapters in Plottr, one POV at a time.
