The city of Minneapolis produced this map during a recent presentation about the fate of the garbage burner. I took a moment, laid the map over I-94 and had a light bulb moment. Then I shouted "wait, hold on guys I found the source of the cancer!" But nobody listens.

How local TV covers I-94 ➡️A big decision that will impact commuters ➡️What this could mean for "a whole lot of drivers." ➡️120,000 people travel this busy stretch every day. No mention of people living within poisoning distance of 94, higher asthma rates, lifespans cut short.

I have great respect for Andrew Hazzard at @sahanjournal.bsky.social, esp. for his great coverage of the Smith Foundry and Roof Depot, which is why I'm disappointed in this piece. There's no mention of the 100+ people who testified today, who overwhelmingly favored keeping the at-grade boulevard.

The informed and impassioned community testimony at today's #RethinkingI94 meeting is inspiring and tragic. People point to LA fires and the climate, about their children being poisoned just by living where they do, & about being lied to and being stripped of their agency by @mndot.bsky.social.

Listening to people speak in support of #RethinkingI94 is just really energizing. Thanks for sharing, everyone.
