Its crazy to me how many "Hyperdive players are hardstuck" posts I've seen when 80% of those people aren't even LI banned but 90% of HD teams are. I'm convinced its not even ignorance at this point but genuine frustration with their own progression #compsplatoon

The example living rent free in my head is main weapon-centric play. West top level describes it in a way that makes it clear they understand it. We regularly watch JP be good about it. But play in mid level, high level, etc and try a single play without 2+ specials behind it and "you're feeding"

nobody in this community knows what “getting better” actually means, so all they wanna do is get into + servers or explain their skill with a div, which imo means legit NOTHING rn. Stop putting a title to ur skill and figure out how to win vs EVERYONE.

The worst part about seeing all the HyperDive discussion is that someone will call the strategy mindless, a HyperDive player will explain some of the depth, and only to be met with "well its wrong because that's not how the game is supposed to be played". Feels shallow and ignorant. #compsplatoon

Too many people are held back because their desire to be perceived as good is stronger than their desire to actually improve. People are dodging tourneys and refusing to try unconventional strategies at the risk of doing "badly" which is insane to me. No other shooter has this.

Coaching others has improved my ability to self review and view the game more objectively. Makes sense but I wasn't expecting the change to be this big.

I feel like our top level and maybe scene as a whole is bad at learning from 1 sided games and tries to avoid them. Unless you are literally 100-0 KOing every single match there is stuff to learn from. The inability to do so speaks to an inability to properly review matches more then anything else.

Splatoon is the only comp game where I've seen people actively avoid practice because they don't want to lose too many games which makes them think they aren't learning anything which just doesn't make any sense to me

This sounds weird, but I kinda like plateauing/getting stuck when it comes to #compsplatoon. There's something fun about having to step back and break your head a bit as you figure out how to get over the hurdle.
