A few years ago City might have a game like tonightās where Haaland has eight out of their 13 shots but a few of the others drop to Gundogan or De Bruyne and they do something special at the death. Thatās the team many have been seeing City as. And they arenāt that team anymore.

Bournemouth really do make it tricky. An inexplicable mistake from Gabriel to gift them the opener, but made up for that with a fine finish for the equaliser. Don't think we're getting enough out of any of the front 3, who are all replaceable from the bench if things don't change in the 2nd half

HT: Difficult half. Way too stretched and open from an Arsenal perspective, playing into Villa's hands who want space and the wide areas to run into. We can't match their running power with this midfield three. They're being allowed to slow the game down at every chance and we can't get going.

Frustrating game, Villa had a 10 min period where it looked as if they could score through our middle. I think Gyokeres should score that first chance, second more difficult but good movement from him. Nevertheless, if Arteta made a half-time change in the front 3 I wouldn't be surprised.

Arsenal are down their two starting CBs, now a third CB, and conceded only .34 xG. Either it's devil magic or Arteta is just a ridiculously good coach.

Bayern Munich are very good by the way, they completely overwhelmed PSG when it was 11v11. Think Arteta may have a special group here

Carlos Cuesta's Parma hold Cesc Fà bregas' Como side to a 0-0 draw. Como with 71% possession, Parma outshoot them 10-6 anyway. Exactly how I'd expect a Arteta-Wenger protégé derby to play out.

Iāve been *so guilty* of this myself so please take what Iām about to say with a huge grain of salt: I think we have to start to move away from the analysis that having most of the ball & pushing the opposition back is ādominating a gameā if youāre not creating a decent volume of good chances

letās say he doesnāt dramatically change as a player in the next 3 years from what we see now, I still think the Gyoker signing is fine if he scores against the middling sides and offers some depth. but on the evidence so far he isnāt troubling Havertz for a starting spot in the big games.

Whatās great is that almost every post mortem post here hasnāt mentioned Odegaard or Havertz missing. And their absence was a BIG factor today. But very few are even pointing out those absences. Thatās how good we are now, even with what was a disappointing result.

First half has me greedy, I want the win. Got to remember a point is still a better result for us than for them. That, at Anfield without Saliba, Ćdegaard, Saka, Havertz, was excellent.

The Premier League's strength in depth will be the reason Premier League teams don't win the Champions League consistently: PSG, Bayern, the Spanish giants can play in second gear in the league most weeks in a way the English clubs can't and it'll often show in April and May.

It means little now, but I'm quite surprised Nwaneri didn't get off the bench tonight. We needed someone with goal threat to try something late on, a shift and shot - he can do that. This also means nothing, but I'm tired of watching Saka needing to beat three players every time he gets the ball.

Whatever the correctness of the actual decision, it feels overly harsh for that to be the punishment for something as exacting as a shoot-out Should be a retake It's a slip, not an intentional attempt to cheat. Absurd.
