TIL that "aluminium" in Polish does not actually mean aluminium! I knew that the standard word for the element Al is "glin", but you hear the word aluminium all the time, especially in its adjevtive form, e.g. folia aluminiowa. So, I thought they were synonyms. But pedantically they're not. 1/

Here’s something that’s really important for everyone to understand. If we design our cities just for cars, they fail everyone, including drivers. If we design our cities with many great CHOICES in how to get around, they work better for everyone, including drivers. Spread the word.

As someone who’s commuted by bike for >30 years I don’t feel the need for an e-bike. But they get people who otherwise would drive to cycle, so I’m all for it! But I do have strong issues on delivery guys on superfast e-bikes riding with complete disregard for others. economist.com/united-state...

We had planned our trip a long time ago and were somewhat surprised by the weather. We came well prepared, but also experienced enough to stay away from the more dangerous routes. At altitude the visibility was indeed quite poor but lower down the mountains are very pretty in their snowy cover.

I visited Rome for the first time last month and this was exactly my impression. Too many cars everywhere and too few places to sit - except for restaurants. It's such a pity, because Rome is uniquely amazing in so many ways!
