Forgot to do my #wildflowerhour pics! Dandelions, crocus, snowdrops and violets.

As a ‘boomer’ I’ve walked the line, moon walked, walked on the wild side, walked on sunshine, walked like an Egyptian, walked this way and walked 500 bloody miles. I’ve done a lot of walking and I’m bloody tired!

Lots of daffs in Ashburton Park but sadly not native.

#wildflowerhour rather disappointing haul from Ashburton Park this week. Lots of stuff popping up but very little in bloom. Daisy, sun spurge, speedwell and red dead nettle.

While on a tram I saw one of the pheasants who live in Beckenham cemetery, strutting his stuff alongside the tram lines just beyond Harrington Rd stop. Haven’t seen any of them for at least 2 yrs, nice to know they're still there! #birds

Croydon M&S has boarded up most areas on 1st floor, with tunnels that turn customers into lab rats. No signage, no explanations, little help from staff. “Oh, the signs are coming tomorrow”.🙄 I’ll just use my crystal ball to find the cafe then, shall I?

Best books of 2025 for me were: 1.The Haunted Wood by Sam Leith, a history of children's literature. 2. Karla's Choice by Nick Harkaway, another George Smiley novel. 3. S. R. Badmin and the English Landscape by Chris Beetles. Badmin was an illustrator, best known for his work with Ladybird Books.

Late for #wildflowerhour, winter heliotrope at Kelsey Park, #Beckenham. There were lots of plants this year, far more than usual.

You don't know what day it is. You're eating countless meals a day with lots of snacks in between. You're napping throughout they day. Either it's the time between Christmas and New Year or you're a cat.

Really enjoying the sign on the lavatory door in my parents' church, which says: "Jesus Christ has washed away your sins but you still need to wash your hands"

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. Because I ate it for lunch.
