Last night, we made history! After years of tireless advocacy from librarians, educators, authors, faith leaders, parents, and students — the Freedom to Read Act has passed 📚 This is a powerful victory for free expression, diverse voices, and the right to access knowledge without fear 🫶🏾📖

So this is the one thing I had to do a lot of organizing for 😁 Sorry, that it's in German though. It's a little mentoring programm for Comicfestival Munich which will take part this week in the old congress hall in Munich.

Another thing you can do for the queer artists and writers and so on whose work you admire this Pride month: go give their books etc solid star ratings on (sigh) sites like Amazon and Goodreads. Because people who hate the existence of that work are always gonna be punitively low-rating them,

I dropped my fee for school/library zoom visits after the election, and I just had a really lovely chat with a middle school GSA. Drop me a line anytime if you have students who would like a short q&a!

Before coming to Guatemala, I embroidered la monja blanca, for my Spanish teacher. Today I showed two indigenous grandmas who taught me how to weave, & I got a hair pet and what seemed like sincere respect and joy at my craft of their sacred flower. Felt like a true textile artist blessing 💖

I stitched hoop art of Janey from Sea Legs (get the cutest silliest most heart wrenching graphic novel now) for @julesbakes.bsky.social based on a panel drawn by @nikismithcomics.bsky.social. And then I stuck gold leaf on it, because Janey is age-appropriately narcissistic.
