In Washington last year, a traffic crash killed or seriously injured someone every 2.7 hours, but I've never seen a TV news station claim that even a single horrific crash "highlights the dangers" of roadway travel.

This is the pinnacle of car culture. This is as good as it gets. History itself ends here, and in a fit of rage Fukuyama floors the gas and drives the last car right through the red light.

This might look really cool to the outside world, but in the Netherlands, this is normal life, especially when you consider that the 65 to 75 age group cycles more than any other adult age group.

This, and self-driving cars will likely never come to dominate because they won't overcome the safety-convenience paradox. As you improve self-driving tech (sensors, AI software, ect), you incentivize other transport modes to safely interfere with your route trajectory, making it less convenient

Getting older in a car-dependent society definitely sucks.
