Senator Padilla was violently assaulted for doing his job. If this is how federal agents treat a sitting U.S. Senator peacefully asking questions, how far will they go?

A group of us have arrived on the Senate floor to challenge our colleagues - on both sides of the aside - to rise to this moment and jointly condemn what has happened to Sen. Padilla. Yes we still need to collect the full facts, but this appears to be a defining moment for the country.

They aren't even pretending anymore that they're responding to rioting or lawlessness. They're calling out the military and threatening large-scale violence against people engaged in lawful protest *because they're engaged in lawful protest*.
