Around 90% of pigs sent for slaughter in the UK are currently killed using CO2. This involves lowering pigs into a CO2 chamber, where they panic, fight for breath, and eventually suffocate. Steps to end this cruel method are long overdue.

Wood burning stoves are an issue - British homes burn some 2 million tonnes a year, producing more fine particles (pm 2.5) than cars do now - it’s right to do something about it.

Our paper published back in May, 'The Good Society Starts Small', called for the end of the two-child benefit limit. Baroness Ruth Lister made an inarguable case for it - morally and economically. We are ecstatic it is being ended. But this is just the beginning.

to provide updates on the lifts for people wanting to cross the river east of Tower Bridge on foot or wheeling bikes. TfL need to pick up the foot tunnels as strategic river crossings and make the lifts reliable.
