Wow thanks so much 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. This is a much loved connection to our neighbours which has been neglected apart from Peter’s heroic solo efforts. Massive difference for local users. ❤️

This is why the regular engine idling from drivers at school pick up and drop off should not be happening. You might be keeping warm, but at what cost to all the other children who get the pleasure of breathing it in as they walk to school. Especially bad for young lungs. Please don't do it. 🙏

We'll have some of that action. Kingsknowe Road North is appallingly narrow in sections. Very busy road, key route to local shops, schools, church, & park. Can't walk side by side with children, pets and that's before you factor in poorly maintained hedges.

This is such an important upgrade! Wider (and smoother) pavements make a huge difference for people walking and wheeling to school, work, shopping and also for bus users!

We got a response from Dave, director of the Redpath & McLean car dealership on Longstone Rd after residents had contacted us about being blinded by the new lights, particularly turning into Redhall Avenue. Others were concerned how much of the Water of Leith was being lit up at night.

Works progressing on the pedestrian improvements on Kingsknowe Road North. Raised table and build out to come from other side now. This will slow drivers speeds and make it safer to cross from these very narrow pavements on a key route to school and a local park.

All the marked up sections of carriageway around the top end of Redhall Drive will be patched properly while the schools are off for February week. Line marking also. This is the section where the schools 'bikeability' training takes place.

This has absolutely had a hugely beneficial impact on people’s lives within our area. We see regular enforcement within our area and that’s been key to behavioural change. 👏👏👏👏

Good to engage with the design team this evening. Good things being proposed. Important that residents help shape the discussion & provide feedback, ideas & constructive criticism. We’re told the funding for this project has been allocated & project expected to progress in tax year 27/28.🤞

We've received a couple of images of the works coming to Kingsknowe Rd North at the junction with Redhall Rd, and the planned improvements for pedestrians at the school entrance. Driver speeds on KRD have long been an issue. Crazy we can't paint a zebra crossing across the school gate in Scotland.

First full winter of having the benefit of these new lights in Hailes Quarry Park. Made a big difference connecting residents to bus services on what was a very dark, uninviting connection from Murrayburn Rd to Longstone St. It was a long detour round if you didn't want to cut through the park. 👍

Safety at the Kingsknowe crossing greatly improved since this incident back in 2012 when it was destroyed by a driver. A new pedestrian bridge would further improve safety/travel times for locals. A well used route by children from Kingsknowe to Longstone Primary.

With Network Raill interested in improving the pedestrian experience at the Kingsknowe level crossing, a common complaint is the length of time the barriers remain closed, particularly if trains are expected from both directions. Worth remembering why this is the case.
