#OTD 1497, Elizabeth Tylney, Countess of Surrey, passed away. Elizabeth was the wife of Thomas Howard, later 2nd Duke of Norfolk. She had previously been married to Humphrey Bourchier, who had died in the Battle of Barnet.

#OTD 1538, Elizabeth Boleyn passed away at the Abbot of Reading's Place in the shadow of Baynard's Castle in London.

#OTD 1502, Prince Arthur Tudor died at Ludlow Castle. Arthur was the eldest son of Henry VII and Elizabeth of York, and the hope of the Tudor dynasty. With his untimely death, his younger brother Henry became the new heir to the throne.

#OTD 1469, Cecily of York was born to Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville. She would go on to marry John Welles, 1st Viscount Welles, in 1488. He predeceased her, and in 1502, she married Thomas Kyme, who was far below her in rank, much to the disappointment of her family.

#OTD 1539, Thomas Boleyn passed away at Hever Castle. His steward Robert Cranwell wrote to Cromwell on 13 March 1539 to inform him of Thomas' passing. According to Cranwell, Thomas "made the end of a good Christian man".

#OTD 1526, Mary Boleyn gave birth to her son, Henry Carey. It is possible that Elizabeth Boleyn was present to help her daughter with the birth. It has been suggested that Henry Carey was the son of Henry VIII, but since we know so little about Mary's affair with the king, I find this doubtful.
