Here comes the story of the Hurricane...

Any of my friends that are lovers of Dylan, or even curious should grab this. He gets so granular with not only albums, but songs and than characters in songs. Highly recommend, also a great follow on here if you arent already.

Amazing thread. I think hurricane is still remarkable as a song. I cant imagine anyone releasing something like this detailing a whole case (accurately or not) as a song that becomes a hit attached to the cause.

New Orleans that day before was just as nuts. Dylan and the entire Rolling Thunder entourage crashed a Tom Waits concert. Waits was not amused. "They got up there for an hour just before I was supposed to begin my set. Before I knew it, fuckin’ Roger McGuinn was up there playing guitar and singing"

Has anyone ever made a spreadsheet listing all the songs, the runtime, and the number of words in each song?

I like the longer songs more as I've aged. I love music that takes me on a journey, whether it be with instruments or lyrics. I find that the journeys change over time for me, or I might catch and latch on to something new. Its cool they asked or were interested.
