It just occurred to me that one day very soon AI is going to make every old bootleg sound this good, and I became very very happy. Imagine 3000 shows that sound like this. 🙂 There will be convincing video too recreated from a single blurry shot someone took. The future’s so bright…🎉

If the Dylan office had any sense or any balls, this would be Bootleg Series 19 and it would be released immediately. Ray will write the liner notes damn quick. Would outsell BS18 I believe.

There are so few photos of Dylan in concert in the last decade that this has become the default story image. Struck me kinda funny.

These are other-worldly. You might think you went to an Outlaw show, but these prove you were outside the building listening through the walls.

Dylan's setlist isn't changing this fall, but the arrangements are. "It's All Over Now Baby Blue" was grooving full-band one night in Brussels, then serene near-solo-piano the very next show in Paris. Here's the same stanza from each to compare:

This is the gem so far - new early verses remind us that Dylan is Dylan for a lot of reasons and hard relentless work is one big one. These things weren’t ‘found’ in perfect form.

People (critics / fans) are worse at reviewing movies than even albums. 0pinions are fine and there are great points to be made, but a) everyone reviews the movie they wish was made & b) nineteen more sub-plots and characters wouldn’t fit. Wish for more nuanced thought & less overblown conclusion.
