everyone always talks about the multiple drinks thing (#bipride) but what about the multiple napkins thing like when you used a napkin but it isn't really dirty and then you grab another one because you forgot you had a 25% used one and then your surface is covered in napkins

this is the "merit" two-step. first, you strongly imply or state outright that the presence of anyone who isn't a straight, able-bodied white man is unfair "DEI," then you argue that just because an institution is all-male and lily-white doesn't mean there is discrimination. that's just merit!

🚨 The Trump admin is going strip parole from everyone who came through the CHNV program who hasn’t yet applied for another status. Could be over 100,000 people. It’ll make them undocumented, with no work authorization, and they’ll be sent notices starting removal proceedings. They came here legally.

If you are a federal worker being offered a buyout, I would advise against taking it. Of course, this is a personal decision for everyone and it’s your choice. But these offers are a rush job. The legality is questionable and this admin does not keep to its word. They aren’t firing for a reason.

i have talked to writers about how looking up synonyms gives us imposter syndrome. but then there’s also this thing about feeling like a synonym isn’t *my* word, like it’s not well-worn by me, i don’t have the right relationship with that synonym i need to get to know it first, connotations and shit
