I finally did the thing and made a website for my work! I needed to make this site because I'm currently looking for work, but making my portfolio also became a nice way to reflect and celebrate my previous work.♥️

I wanted to share some of the stories I deeply enjoyed editing at Polygon, particularly narrative features and culture crit around games, the internet, power structures, and community; I'm grateful Polygon gave me the space to do it. I loved working with writers so much

I was planning on putting this up when I hit 1000 posts on Polygon, but here's a handful of the 800 or so articles I'm most proud of writing during my time there in no particular order.

I am immensely proud of all my work at Polygon, but these are some of my favorites, starting with my video on logistics games and the covid supply chain crisis boy i sure hope that doesn't happen again

I am really proud of the work I did over my 3+ years at Polygon and over a decade at Vox Media, and grateful for the people I got to do it with. I'm going to share some of my very favorites in this thread.

Been looking at and saving the stories I'm most proud of after being laid off, just in case. I'm scared for the future but reminding myself that I did all this work, not Polygon. I hope I can keep doing it. I'd like to share some, starting big:

With today’s changes at Polygon, I've made the decision to step away as a deputy editor. It’s been a privilege to work with an incredibly talented and supportive team who I'll really miss, and I’m enormously proud of what we’ve accomplished in our time together.

I'm still in shock and so so deeply angry about Vox Media's decision to sell Polygon. I am one of the over 20 people laid off today from the best damn website out there. I'm so proud of the place we built, and the workplace I helped shape. I'm sure I'll have more to say soon, but processing it now

Their press release proudly calls Polygon a "premium gaming publication" but Valnet literally refused to meet with me or answer a single question of mine throughout this process. They were wildly incurious about how a gaming publication even becomes "premium."

Julia will never say this so I’ll say it for her: when I worked for Polygon, she was responsible for not just the biggest Polygon article, but the NUMBER 1 MOST CLICKED ARTICLE ON ALL OF VOX MEDIA. She was single-handedly paying all of our salaries. Hire Julia.
