Somewhere in this house I've got a copy of the congregation cookbook from my mom and dad's small-town church. (It was a wedding present.) In this cookbook are *several* recipes for Twinkie cake. They involve Twinkies, of course, and Cool Whip. I would never dare attempt one.

I started The Last Empress last night, forgetting that I'd seen all ten thousand episodes when it first came out. Shin Sung-rok is so great at playing a stone-cold villain. He's got a non-villainous cameo in Finding Mr. Destiny, one of my favorite movies. Anyway, I'll skip a rewatch of Empress.

One form of discrimination against people with chronic illness is in food costs. If you have a special diet, the food costs are outrageous. Everything I look for in sugar free and keto is 3 - 4 (or more in many cases) times more expensive than regular priced food. I bet others have similar problems.

I just saw a review on Fragrantica that said the perfume in question reminded the reviewer of the "Pride and Prejustice era," and I have no freaking idea whatsoever.

We have no popping corn, so I have been forced to bake sesame strips - a quick bread dredged in butter and sprinkled with sesame seeds. My mother used to bake these to go along with spaghetti and meat sauce. They're best when they're hot.
