Good news and good on Noel Frame. This year's election results across WA show a *very* clear voter mandate to tax the rich. It's not just Seattle or King County. The whole state wants to tax the rich to fund public services. Dems in Olympia should be wary of resisting that mandate.

Thank you to CM Rinck for her leadership here. We will certainly need to partner with County, State and Federal delegation. In particular, we need State electeds to adopt new progressive revenues, like a statewide Corporate Payroll Tax or a Wealth Tax to make up for these cruel cuts.

We currently collect approximately 10% sales taxes on the hard construction costs of new housing. These taxes ultimately get passed onto homebuyers and renters, similar to how tariffs get passed on. How about we exempt new housing construction from sales taxes and instead collect a wealth tax…

Following up on my short thread yesterday, another reason I’m excited is because I think it will be transformative to have a renter, car-free transit-rider, and mom of a younger kiddo as our next mayor. It’s got to be historic in many ways.

the sales tax on constructing just one 650sf 1BR apartment in seattle today is over $30k, and the MHA fee can be almost as high depending on neighborhood. at $22/sf that would add another $14k. it's also insane we don't exempt affordable housing from sales tax on construction

Not impressed with this ad. Reminds me of Nancy Reagan’s “just say no” to drugs campaign. It’s an oversimplification of a complex problem, as if all we need to do is to “say no” to homelessness.

I havent seen pundits talk enough about how we have failed younger generations, and the impacts (including political) of those failures. Pundits are misreading things, imo, if they only view this as an anti-Trump backlash. Yes, that is a big part of the mood, but certainly not the only thing.

Yes, younger voters overwhelmingly support my campaign, and sure, the youth are the repository of idealism. But you know what else? They’re the ones who feel the affordability crisis in their bones, who can’t imagine building a life here because rent, food, childcare, everything costs so much.
