No matter how many awful things come out of this White House, you can organize your community at the state and local level to fight back against the oligarchy. Kudos to everyone who organized and won against Big Tech last year. Let’s keep up the fight this year and beyond.

I love how these AI companies basically has us working for them AND consuming from them. We collectively provided them with the data to build their models, then they built their models and embedded them in our products for us to consume where they take our data and repeat 🔁 What a system

As you begin budgeting for Black Friday, consider shopping locally as much as possible. Many small retailers (especially hobby shops, game stores, and comics shops) run *barely* in the black until the holidays, at which point they make all the profits that will keep them solvent next year.

Word of the Day: ANTIMETABOLE - a rhetorical device when words are repeated in successive clauses, but swapped. For instance JFK's "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country", or Snoop Dogg's "With my mind on my money and my money on my mind."

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑

I think people think that art taking a long time to learn means like a month or maybe a year and not an ever expanding process that progresses with you the entirety of your time drawing. You don't "finish" getting good at art because that's not the freaking point.

This is why I don't like AI use for ANY reason, even if it's just to dunk on AI. Any use takes up resources and energy that could be better used doing literally anything else. Any "good potential use" for AI is annihilated by how much energy it takes to make it. Throw it in the trash, it's no good!

If "AI" was as valuable as they say it is, they wouldn't be selling it to you. They'd be using it themselves in secret to make the next Minecraft, the next Avatar, the next Hello Kitty and then they'd sell that to you. They're trying to sell you a sick goose, while pretending it lays golden eggs.

Your Prime Day reminder that half of Amazon warehouse workers struggle with food & housing costs. A third have had to rely on government assistance like SNAP — which is about to get cut. If Bezos can spend $50M on a wedding, Amazon can afford to treat its workers with dignity.
