Macron didn't concede anything in private messages to Trump, but the US Right is so high on delusional hubris that even basics of diplomatic back channels are useless as means to achieve stable outcomes. How do you de-escalate with a US government that is obsessed with performative escalation?

JEAN KLEYN TO LEAVE MUNSTER AT THE END OF THE SEASON A real rock of the Munster pack for most of the last decade. He'll be missed. A core part of the URC title win in 2023, and then went on to win a World Cup, playing in the final. A top guy. Best of luck to him on the move.

SUPER DELUXE WALLY RATINGS #326 :: Toulon 27 Munster 25 You know the feeling. All too well, perhaps. The win was there, until it wasn't, and we'll be drinking from the bitter barrel for a few days as we digest how this game got away from us.

In Dublin, on Fenian Street, there's a factory that makes child sex abuse material. You can pay it money, as a subscription, and that's one of the services it offers. This doesn't happen by mistake or because you've tricked or hacked the system. It’s a feature.

I know we are all the frogs being boiled but, when it really hits you, the question of 'should the world's largest producer of CSAM be banned' and the governments response is to just flop around. This situation is absolutely crazy.

One reason I feel like I'm going mad is, even if Musk did immediately halt Grok and issue a grovelling apology - rather than PAYWALLING IT - he should *still* be prosecuted and his website banned. Very obviously! You don't get out of CSAM charges by just stopping. AND HE STILL HASN'T STOPPED.

Every hour between Monday and Tuesday, Twitter generated 6,700 sexual deepfake images. Experts say it has become the biggest online factory of such material in the world. This was a trend once on the darkest corners of the web - now pushed by a billionaire into the mainstream.

The issue is that there is a huge amount of venture capital funding that takes a product, then heavily subsidizes it to create a market that doesn't actually exist in the hope to create a new market. The problem is that they both damage existing market solutions and forever distort price signals.

it is fairly amazing how clear it was, at the time, what was happening. so much chaff has been thrown into the air since then, of course, that most coverage takes a "whomst amongst us can say what happened that day?" approach (stole this image from

Sorry but we literally debunked this like last month when he did this dog whistle. Fintan O'Toole literally did the maths, in the Times no less, that showed that this isn't true. Why are we bothering to publish such an obvious lie when we know it's a lie?

Joshua and Paul provide pitiful spectacle and the worst is there’s more to come | Donald McRae
Miami bout was a bleak and blood-flecked affair but both men will find more opponents willing to take the money Jake Paul’s mouth opened wide, and his eyes became huge glazed saucers, as he sank to the canvas in shock and awe after a pulverising right hand from Anthony Joshua finally ended the circus in Miami late on Friday night. It looked as if Paul was trying to say “Wow!” as the severity of impact registered in his scrambled brain. Pinned in a corner of the ring midway through the sixth round, Paul could no longer run or cling to Joshua’s legs like a forlorn little boy as the gravity of boxing enveloped him. Instead, as he tried to absorb the punch that broke his jaw in two separate places, Paul was lost in his utterly stunned moment. Continue reading...

The government presents its demand for a new nitrates derogation (pollution permit) in Brussels as a demand of the Irish public. This counterpoint argues that it is actually being demanded by a subsection of the agriculture industry, and is in conflict with a genuine public interest: clean water
