"Just half a pound of the stuff may remove as much carbon dioxide as a tree can". What the f**k does that even mean? A mature tree removes ~25 kg of CO₂/year. This "new powder" is a sorbent with a capacity of 0.96 mmol/g, so that's 0.0096 kg of CO₂ per 0.5 lbs. You'd need 1305 lbs to equal a tree.
