I have this thing where every mistake and failure is burned into my brain, but the same is not true for success. I can remember a mistake from a decade ago and feel pain and shame. The only way for me to feel the joy of success is to to have a new experience of success. Maybe this is normal?

One thing I’ve observed while working on a project with a subcontractor that uses Chat-GPT a lot (much to my annoyance) is that it’s basically a Dunning-Kruger machine. They are speaking very confidently and wrong about things they have no experience in because they plugged it into Chat-GPT.

The giant education funding study I’ve been working on for the last 8 months just went through a peer review and they said it was really good work 🥹 I’ve had a ton of imposter syndrome on this project (as someone without a PhD), so this was insanely validating. Maybe I do know what I’m doing haha

March was supposed to be a lull in work so I could take some substantial time off (since I worked over winter break). Instead work is just ramping up with no end in sight x.x I can see burnout on the horizon

I really wish academia for social science wasn’t so fucked at the moment or I totally would have gone the PHD route. At a research conference and feeling like I wish I was actually on the research side of things.

Post Furthemore reflection: I had moments when I was partialing where I was able to let go, not feel self-conscious, and actually feel my character. It was a new feeling, and kind of intoxicating! Like many headspaces, it’s a hard thing to get into, but I wanna explore this more!

Gotta love that within 5 minutes of getting back to work after vacation I’m already stressed out of my mind 🙃

Furthemore really needed a good year and BOY did they deliver a good year. Vibes were excellent. Hotel was weird but good for the event. The stars really aligned for me this con. Thanks to all the people I spent time with who made this weekend great <3
