Its unsurprising AI is so divisive on Bluesky. We're at an intersection of devs – for whom Claude is a useful tool used by most – creatives and artists where AI is bad and damaging, and blue wave who just see it as sama and grok. We're arguing about different things from very different perspectives.

I think a lot of users didn't even read your blog post and freaked out just hearing the word "AI." I hate the AI slop on other platforms. But I think it's great that it's getting easier to create custom feeds.

As @davidpierce.xyz keeps saying, AI is fundamentally enterprise tech! I am convinced shoving it onto consumers without actually-great products is like forcing everyone to really really consider the consequences of giving SAP first-strike capabilities

If you want a simple out-of-the-box way to post on your own blog, you can’t go wrong with Pagecord! And as someone who likes to research every app before making a decision, it really is the best value out there.

The only thing I’d add to Erlend’s excellent response: Bluesky is built on atproto! The (bad) hypothetical where evil co shuts off bsky’s open access doesn’t exist because you’d have to completely rearchitect how bsky works, it’s not like just turning off an API endpoint. That’s the whole point!
