Netflix, maybe we should have a word on releasing your animated films on the same day as either an animated film or especially a major event in theaters. I’m just sayin.

And then there’s Skydance and Brad Bird’s Ray Gunn, to which it will be coming out…..yeah, I’m sorry to say this….its gonna bomb. Like really really bomb in terms of viewership and popularity. Look up and see why what I’m talking about.

So, here’s the dates for the rest of Netflix’s animated films for 2026….. Steps is coming out on November 20th, days before Disney’s Hexed. Unsure if it’s good or bad, but we’ll wait and see. Btw, I’m afraid that it might be Leo over Wish or KPop over Elio again, but again, f*ck Film Twitter.

Oof. Poor Supergirl. Couldn’t even debut with a fresh 60% on Rotten Tomatoes in the way that #StarWars: #TheMandalorianAndGrogu. Looks like this has sealed the film’s fate for being a box office flop where it won’t even double its budget, unlike #StarWars: #TheMandalorianAndGrogu.

But then you have Spellbound. The fact that it came out on the same day as Wicked: Part 1 is one thing, but releasing it just days before another Disney sequel, Moana 2, proves that it have no chances of being remembered in the long.

Ultraman: Uprising had 15 minutes of fame….and that’s it. Since Inside Out 2, released on the same day as Ultraman, break major records at the box office during the summer, and prior to Ne Zha 2 several months later, went on to become the highest grossing animated film of all time.

But then you have Ultraman: Uprising and especially Spellbound, both of which released in 2024. Yes, the Disney and Pixar films of Inside Out 2 and Moana 2 are sequels, but I’m counting this regardless.

Not to mention that maybe with the exception of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, there’s not much bigger movies coming out in November like the last two years.

And I’ll say now, maybe Steps is gonna do fine. Since it will be coming out around the time between The Cat in the Hat and Hexed. All of which are only aiming towards kids and families.

Or just this year, where Swapped made over 100 million views in less than a month, while Animal Farm bombed harder than both Elio and Wish combined (and a good reason, bc the movie is trash(haven’t seen it nor will I ever watch) and distributor behind Animal Farm is as disgraceful as John Lasseter).

Or especially Sony’s KPop Demon Hunters became a phenomenon (and even became the most watch Netflix film in history) while Elio bombed. Damn, how to heck did Netflix beat Disney twice in terms of original animated films?

Seriously Netflix, what the hell are you thinking about releasing your animated films around the same time as either another animated film or especially a major event in movie theaters. Sure, there are times when it turns out that it works. Like Leo became a bigger hit than Wish.

But after found out that it will be released on the same day as a very certain ev….wait, let me rephrase that…..a certain double feature event in theaters on December 18th, that’s when I made the decision……. Yeah, I’m fully skipping this entirely.

It’s because the film is being made at Skydance Animation, led by a disgraced animation veteran, John Lasseter. Nonetheless, I was really somewhat hope that the movie would turn out at least ok…….

Thread To be completely honest, I was very close to checking out Ray Gunn. Mainly because it’s directed by renown filmmaker, Brad Bird. But the reason why I’m not as anticipated as some of the other animated films around the same time like Wildwood, Forgotten Island, and Hexed….

While I got a few nitpicks that I don’t wanna get into without spoiling the plot, #ToyStory5 might just be my favorite #ToyStory film yet, thanks to a relatable story w/ important commentary that we get told from Jessie’s POV. And Taylor Swift’s new song is quite catchy. I give this movie a 9.5/10.

Aw yeah! The 2-episode Season 2 premiere of #XMen97 rocked. It was filled with interesting story arcs to come for characters like Nathan Summers/Cable, Polaris, showstealers like Morph, and the MVP of both OG & revival series in Jubilee, whose voice actor, Holly Chou, I got a selfie with. It’s lit!🔥

#DisclosureDay is Steven Spielberg’s most ballsiest movie yet. Won’t be for everyone and it has some issues, but a fascinating story heralded by a strong cast, including Colman Domingo, and graceful music of John Williams make this another treasure of the GOAT of Hollywood. 9/10

It seems the first teaser trailers have been rated for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ #Hexed starring Hailee Steinfeld, which hits theaters Thanksgiving, and Pixar Animation Studios’ #Gatto starring MarkRuffalo, which hits theaters next March, ahead of when they play with #ToyStory5

Seems like the 1st teaser trailer that came out 6 days ago for #IceAgeBoilingPoint from Disney/20th Century Studios seems to have gone over well with people who have seen it, as it has now hit 3 million views on YouTube w/ an estimated 96% thumbs up rating. Can’t wait til it arrives February 5, 2027

#MastersOfTheUniverse is an epic blast of action, colorful visuals, fun, an epic final act, and lit performances from Nichols Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Idris Elba, Allison Brie, and MVP Jared Leto as Skeletor. Too bad we may not get a sequel, but I hope this franchise continues another way. 7.5/10

What a great way to remind people trump is a rapist

Yep. Even after 9 viewings, I still say #TheMandalorianAndGrogu is the most fun time I’ve ever had watching a #StarWars movie in the theater since #RogueOne. And my hometown friend agreed it was a fun 6.5/10 movie with his expectations lowered and to not expect it to be like Andor.
