We're at Westminster Hall today, supporting Disabled people and our allies to speak up and tell their MP why devastating disability benefit cuts must not go ahead.

This is extraordinary: "emissions by data centres needed to train and deliver AI services are estimated at around 3 per cent of the global total, close to those created by the aviation industry."

Anyone who wants to make people "resilient" by forcing children to function with unmet needs just likes to be mean to kids. Period.

Putting on psychology hat for a moment, the way you ACTUALLY build resilient people is by meeting all their needs and keeping them fully safe as children. Then they internalize a sense of safety and competence which leads to being able to persist through challenges. ACCOMMODATIONS BUILD RESILIENCE.

Until we, as a society, have done every single thing we can to develop genuine inclusion and accessibility, we can't ask anyone to be resilient. We have to do the work first. This isn't about life's 'ups and downs', this is about structural inequity and deeply entrenched ableism. So jog on, Wes 😡

As a consultant clinical psychologist, I am LITERALLY trained to see the other’s perspective. But with #DisabilityBenefits cuts? There is no such argument. No reason to link cuts to work access. No reason to think it will incentivise. No fiscal rationale. Just jaw-dropping harm.
