I see a lot of people saying that a person charged with a crime deserves the chance to prove their innocence. Please stop doing this because you have it backwards and this is really important. It is ALWAYS the government's burden to prove a person guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

My main point is that waiting for an aggressor to stop, or appeasing them, or being a good enough person that they just realize they were wrong—it doesn't work. Once they have gotten violent, things are violent. Making them un-violent is not one of the available options.

I was raised in a violent home. The violence came from one direction, my father. I tried avoiding him, appeasing him, appealing to his "natural affection," being as "good" as possible, being invisible. Nothing worked. The one thing I never tried was fighting back. I regret that.

The executive branch (the branch the president is the head of) has no control over the judiciary. That's separation of powers. Trump was in fact tried and convicted of 34 felonies. Biden did nothing to slow that down. He couldn't have, legally. Trump isn't in prison because court cases take time.
