Sorry, I’m cynical today but I’ve done this in every election cycle. And they’re mostly ineffective when elected. I’m not saying we stop but in the year of our lord 2025 this is just not enough.

I can't tell you how frustrating it is that even now CNN is behind a paywall. In an era information is skewed, putting news behind a paywall makes it harder for people to get news. I'm not saying CNN is a gold standard, but it's a major corporation, not a small newspaper that needs monetary support.

I see some chatter that the Phillies beat writers were out of line with questions to Nick Castellanos last night and I just don’t understand it. Castellanos had a good game, so it’s natural to ask questions about his adjustment to the platoon, his prep, etc. That’s their job.

Catching up on all this Nick Castellanos stuff. I get why the reporters asked those questions. They had to. But I think now that this particular interview is done, maybe we just leave this whole thing alone for the rest of the season.

Listen, I’m here mostly to talk Star Trek and Phillies shit. Sometimes I get real. I guess this is one of those times. Over the past few days, as I’ve seen many reactions to recent events, what scares me most is just how callous so many people can be in a time where empathy is most needed.

It’s September 13th. The Philadelphia Phillies are up 12 games in the NL East. They are up 6 games for a bye in the first round of the postseason. And, most importantly, they are playing well, and with what appears to be a cohesive determination to win this whole thing.

The New York Mets, losers of six straight, are down 6-0 and facing Jacob deGrom. Since starting 45-24 and owning the best record in MLB, the Mets are 31-47, better than only the Rockies, Twins and Nationals. This isn't a collapse. It's a disintegration.

Billy Joel could write a whole-ass song about just this week.
