If you’re gonna make a movie about Nebraska, I think it has to be a movie like Deliver Me From Nowhere, and Jeremy Allen White’s good as Bruce. But for a story about an artist refusing any artistic compromise, DMFN does have a lot of moments that feel to me like concessions to the audience.

Somewhat appropriately, Spinal Tap II is like when an old rock band does a farewell tour where they just play their hits and bask in their fans’ adoration. There’s nothing like the ingenuity and inspiration of the original movie. But ... I laughed.
