Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is a timely and powerful reminder that being on a boat totally sucks.

A little later than usual, but here’s my review of The Odyssey.

I haven’t watched The Hawk yet, but obviously I am very curious, given my upcoming book. Almost all of its subjects have migrated to streaming TV -- and Will Ferrell isn’t even the first one to make a show about a down-on-his-luck pro golfer.

Spent the evening showing my kids Chaplin, Keaton, and Lloyd clips. (Safety Last was far and away their favorite.) I can’t wait until the class of 2040 at NYU has to explain why they decided to go into film studies and everyone’s answer is “I was a big fan of Minions & Monsters.”

Minions & Monsters: I haven’t seen this much pandering to film critics in a children’s film since that Shrek sequel where Donkey spent half the movie lost in the woods with Manny Farber.
