공룡 연조직에 대해 드는 생각들: '공룡'에게 깃털이 있었냐 없었냐는 지극히 추상적인 질문에 대해서는 웬만해서는 하나하나 대답해주지 않기로 했으니 넘어가고: 이 질문의 연장선 정도 되는 이야기로는 티렉스 깃털 이야기가 있다. 물론 질문의 의도는 티렉스에게 깃털이 풍성했냐는 문제겠지만 나처럼 반골기질이 생기면 코끼리를 예시로 든다. 코끼리도 자세히 보면 털이 있는데, 티라노사우루스도 깃털 정도라면 그런 식으로라도 나 있지 않았을까.

Very interesting - seems that like ammonites, some belemnites may also have survived the end-Cretaceous mass extinction. ☄️☠️ Unlike ammonites which only persisted a few 100 thousand years they lasted a long time - into the Eocene at least! 🤯
