Lonely Lady Dinner #1

My wife's off for a cosplay sewing sleepover which means I'm flying solo this weekend. Probably gonna be mostly working on projects and such, as well as playing a copious amount of Pokémon ZA. Cooking some Teriyaki Chicken for myself tonight, and then Char Siu pork tomorrow.

Our power grid is hanging on for dear life

I started watching May I Ask for One Final Thing because I wanted to see a gorgeous white-haired lady beat the shit out of corrupt nobles with her fists, but damn they're actually juggling some worldbuilding and shit too. Good stuff.

As the weather turns nasty, Pho is an absolute requirement. And thus, we are partaking.

I spent the time on the plane back from Gateway FATE needlessly grinding so I could finally clear Ivalice Chronicles! What a great game, a wonderful update on an old classic. The voice acting really sells it, and I like the little nods to FFXIV fans packed within since Matsuno is a player/fan.

Had an absolutely wonderful time at Gateway FATE, it was really nice going to a con without having to work it... this time. We'll see how Time Adrift goes, but maybe next year we'll be able to return as more than just attendees. Either way though we'll be back, it was an absolute blast.

Based on the previews coming out, the next... few episodes I think of Spy x Family are gonna be pretty rough, but I really appreciate that the studios seem to be going all in on what is a STRIDENTLY anti-war message from the source material. It's an important message, especially right now.

There is only one person I would ever consider to talk about Ivalice with me. Honestly, I want you all to appreciate how restrained our nerding out was in this episode. We could have literally gone for like 5 more hours.

"May I Ask for One Final Thing" is gonna be a great popcorn anime this season, I can tell. Seeing a gorgeous, refined noblewoman go to town on horrible people and beat them half to death with her fists is a lovely premise and I'm so here for it.

Got to get into Ivalice Chronicles a bit, it's been really nice hearing Ben Starr in a more villainous role, he managed to pack a lot of quiet menace into even early-game Dycedarg's line delivery which I just adore.

Hades II feels great to play, the new mana system is interesting in how it changes the overall gameplay but it's not so much of a deviation that the game feels alien. Just a nice advancement on top of all the new weapons and boons. The game is just as much fun as the original.

Celebrating a bit of a personal win, I had until recently been working for a luxury home builder which was an... experience. They were going full RTO and I snagged a job with our local woman-owned clean energy-focused utility company which has a lot of remote flexibility and a good mission.

I was aware of SRW but never played and my good friend @valorliana.bsky.social literally mailed me her copy to entice me to stream it. I can safely report there is no going back for me. Also, there was a called shot that I will absolutely fall for GaoGaiGar. It was a *correctly* called shot.
