I have been learning Hiwatahia-Taino, the indigenous language of Boriken (Puerto Rico). For my language class final project, I localized a portion of a game I designed 2 years ago. I'm proud to say this the first time people outside our community are seeing it in a game!

Grateful to have had the opportunity to speak at the Google Building for Everyone Summit! I shared insights on the initiatives and impact Google Play and @latinxingaming.bsky.social have had on our community over the last few years on a panel with two powerhouses, Samia Zuber and Laila Shabir!

In 2017 we started Latinx in Gaming without expecting to grow into a 501c3 Non-profit organization - An email led to a GDC Panel. Panel led to online friends. Friends led to an E3 meetup. Meetup led to a Discord community. Community led to a Movement. You can organize - momentum is key

Had a screening call with a recruiter. I shared my salary expectations and what she pitched was not within range. Then she said, ‘Some people change their minds and come back. It’s not all about the money.’ Okay but also, I’m not taking a near 45% salary cut for a lateral move 🫠

In Puerto Rico, Las Fiestas de San Sebastian (La SanSe) start on the 16th of January. It’s a big festival celebrating the island’s culture. In preparation, the mall is hosting an artisan alley. 2 years ago, I made a game about vejigante masks and today, I met the artisans whose work inspired me 🇵🇷❤️
