Setting aside whether or not she has good beliefs (I don't think she does), it's bad for uni leadership to cosign "don't think for yourself." Critical thinking should be the #1 goal.

They have been firing adjuncts at CUNY because of their outside of class political activities for years! Fulltime faculty and Deans will be next, like they just did at Texas A&M.

If *your department head and your dean* can be removed for supporting your colleague in teaching in their area of expertise, then you have no academic freedom. In a functional sense, you don't work at a university at all.

This is deeply alarming, especially for professors like me who teach queer & trans literature in an English department.
