as a certified Guy Who Writes Parsers For Old Internet Standards i feel obliged to say that you should never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever write your own parsers for these things

and sure enough, if you stick an nginx process inbetween the tailscale reverse proxy and the calibre content server configured to remove Tailscale-User-* headers from requests, it works fine

okay i'm not clear on who's at fault for this, but tailscale sends `Tailscale-User-Profile-Pic:` with no value attached if you have the default profile picture, and calibre chokes on the fact that the value is empty
