Today has been a big rest day so please enjoy these photos of friends I made at the animal rescue/botanic garden yesterday. Most of these were surrendered pets or 'animal attractions' for tourist businesses.

We went to Kite Beach today. It was very cool to watch.

We made it to Cabo Verde and have successfully procured snacks and naps. I'm very grateful for assistance staff and painkillers. It seems as though (touch wood 🪵) my power chair came out with only a few scuffs and scratches for its trouble, which might be a miracle. Next comes naps in the sun!

This is where I'm going for Christmas. I am currently trying to convince my sister to bake me some sea-salted banana bread.

Happy birthday to Dexter! The weather cleared up enough for us to have a brief potato adventure with the party hat.

I'm so grumpy today. I had to do two things earlier this week and have slept for a couple of days, but have been super grumpy when I'm awake and I don't know why! I'm not even in enough pain to justify why I'm so uncomfortable in my skin. Here's an iguana who wants to fight my wheelchair. Mood.

Not to brag, but I did indeed get my shit together. Today I have had a shower and got dressed and got in the car to tag along to the Komodo Dragon guy chat. A shower is usually my accomplishment for at least two days. I am killing it. (And by it, I mean my body will kill me later 😂)

I am so tired but I really need to get my shit together because David is going to speak to a Komodo Dragon guy tomorrow and I am determined to tag along.

Just a reminder that many animal shelters also have a “pet food pantry” for people in need. And many food pantries will also accept pet food donations. Some people may now need to redirect pet-food funds towards their own needs or choose to go hungry in order to ensure their pets do not.

I had my first appointment with the specialist pain team today and they think they can help me. I could cry with relief. But also with frustration that my GP lied about referral, then told me that I didn't need them because he was managing my pain & made me beg. I could have had this 18 months ago.
