I don’t like to talk about neurodivergent sense experience in terms of hyper and hypo sensitivity. Because there is no “correct” or just-right Goldilocks standpoint from which to judge. Neurodivergent people are not “incorrectly” experiencing the world. To say “more so” or “less so” misses this.

A few years ago I was fascinated by cephalopods; their shape-shifting capabilities, their chromatophores that allow them to camouflage. I used green screens to reflect those things within me. This was all before I thought I was autistic. Now I wonder if intuitively I was exploring masking.
