Fifteen years ago, my waters broke at 41+6 and my lazy middle son was born at 2.25am the following morning. He was as dramatic as possible during the birth and in a great many ways, nothing has changed.

So, earlier this week, I had the pleasure and honour of presenting my research to the Broken Bonds conference at Northumbria. I spoke about escaping domestic violence in a legal landscape that really didn't care. This week's Friday Murder builds on that research.

My theory as something of a Weird Expert on neonatal death in the 19thC is that this may have been a baby kept for a Very Long Time in a woman's private chest, discovered after death/in the loft and simply repackaged and left.
