It's an account for Atmosphere apps. It's not a "handle" for the whole "internet". It's not a "Bluesky" account, a lot of us don't host our account there, and hopefully less will over time. Atmosphere came from the community, we build as a community. Don't overcomplicate it. Atmosphere Account.

@mackinac.social is using Bridgy Fed's API to blur the lines between protocols so people can find their people regardless of their platforms. Tons of unique features, and @whiteside.io did most of this without even needing our help! In fact, we got some new ideas from this ourselves 🤔

Love this! I’ve said it before, but Surf is one of my favorite places to build feeds.

The new client I've been working on @mackinac.social has the same bridge switching functionality as @atexplore.social. Any account that is bridged via Bridgy Fed will show a bridge icon and enable you to easily view content on the other protocol.

It’s kinda concerning how many non-techie people I know are starting to use AI without really understanding that you can’t take everything it says at face value.

The blacksky.community web application now uses our own API servers to load posts, timelines and profiles. When data is missing (accounts on the edges of the network, outside of our primary community, etc) we leverage @microcosm.blue

I don't think it’s a coincidence that as companies have ramped up on AI, we've seen more and more service outages.

It’s kinda scary how much better week over week Claude is getting at writing code.

On the rich views, data is pulled from multiple PDSs, so that can lead to a lot more latency. These simple views just pull collections/records from the PDS where the data lives, so it should be much faster. The GraphQL APIs I set up have really helped improve how I pull different scopes of data.

Update 🚀: We've unified our search into a single input. Results across all types will now show in a single list, no more dropdown to select type.

I’m working on a lighter UX for collection records/lists for @atexplore.social. One source of latency is just pulling data from across different PDSs to populate those views.

Focus areas for @atexplore.social this week are performance and UX. I really want to get the performance piece figured out.
