Update as of 4:30pm Temporary Restraining Order against the feds has been granted. The judge did not find evidence that the military or the guard need to be brought in because the protests in Portland have been relatively calm. Aggression is coming from federal agents and right wing provocateurs

Trump’s deployment of troops to Portland is a dangerous escalation of authoritarianism. Now is the time to find our own ways of standing up and fighting back to preserve our democracy. Fellow vets: we need you to muster. And those serving: you can refuse an unlawful order as you may receive it.

Never forget Portland Biz Alliance/Portland Metro Chamber's role in handing Trump's Dept of Homeland Security the false narrative they craved in 2020. PBA blamed biz losses on protestors calling for justice - when their own data showed the real cause was COVID.

I don’t want to hear anymore “Portland is dying” narrative or vague complaints about “ANTIFA” as the clarion call for action in the city. All of that led to Trump targeting us. Groups like People for Portland, associated right-wing media ecosystem, and political opportunists own this.

A total about-face by Metro Chamber and allies, trying to repeal the portrait of Portland crime they drew up during the post-COVID years, when it seemed politically advantageous. Now, the crime narratives are “outdated,” because the people who constructed them decided so. Sleight of hand.

Continued escalation from Trump this morning. I need to hear a forceful response to this from Gov. Kotek, assuring Oregonians we will not tolerate this level of illegal intimidation. To service-members: remember you do not have to follow an unlawful order such as implied below.

Trump has escalated his attack on Portland by deploying more Feds to Portland for the purpose of intimidating and silencing our community, so that we comply in advance with his fascist regime. Don’t acquiesce. Join an org, talk to your neighbors and build solidarity networks to keep each other safe.

It's frankly absurd that the consensus view has just decided to accept uncritically this idea that the P4A tax is driving people away, because you're hearing grumblings from a few very rich people who pay the small marginal tax. Share this report with your reps and senators.
