It's not an exaggeration to say that John Blanche's art fundamentally changed my life. I'd not have been sucked into 40k without the way he presented the universe. The 2nd ed 40k box was my first GW purchase, and it fascinated me. Thank you for your vision and creativity, John. You will be missed.

This saturday I made lots of little changes so I got more close-ups and comparisons! Trophy-rack, more pink in the backlight, cleaner epic scale marines, subtle face change... aaand I filled the cracks in the planet with putty so I can redo it with freehand 😅😬 #minipainting #miniatures #abaddon

As usual, I came back from AdeptiCon totally jazzed for hobby. Specifically, making terrain. I've been sitting on the Ash Wastes box for four years (!) and thought it was time to do something about that. These hab modules are super fun to build. Entertainment: The Hunt for Vulkan

Still magnificent. And still makes me itchy.

I would be there in a heartbeat if Games Workshop put out a heraldry book for the Horus Heresy. Like, collect all those images from the various editions, organize them up nicely, and provide annotations. Astartes, Solar Auxilia, Mechanicum, the works. Half that stuff is from out of print books, now.

I tried to stray not too far from the classic design of the model, but still add some details I liked I also tried out using a Blanche paint set too, and it was definitely worth it, I'll probably use the same method/paints for some parts like the red cloak/cape going forward

The first AdeptiCon SprayTeam classes were AWESOME! The students did incredibly well - everyone produced terrain that would have looked great on a table at the con. Many of them had NEVER used an airbrush! So stoked, & so grateful to the students and my co-instructors Nathan Herron & Tim Toolen!

It's an AdeptiCon SprayTeam weekend, and the lovely people at @monument-hobbies.bsky.social have dropped us a lovely supply package. Looking forward to trying these. Thanks guys!

Found a way to make the rapier platform guns swappable, without any magnets. Attached the ammo hopper/energy cells to the back of the weapon so the whole unit swaps out. Clipped a groove into the trunnions and filed them down so they sit into the chassis #miniaturing #horusheresy #nurglings

After too many hours, i've finished my first mini aimed at painting competition. The goal was to push myself to the max, take as much time as needed to work on as many details as possible. It was a very interesting experience, mentally taxing, but it definitely help me realise my progress (1/3)

Trans people weren't consulted, and apparently geneticists weren't either. Your genes do not determine who you are. There are a thousand ways a gene you have isn't expressed, or if it is then its product doesn't work. Biology is stunningly complex. You can't boil it down to XY=♂️ and XX=♀️. Shocking.

Throwback Thursday! Post something yellow! My hobby peak, which got me Commended/Finalist at Golden Demon in 2022. Hoping to at least equal that this year.

There's dozens of expensive "water fx" products on the hobby market, but I don't use them. Weapon of choice for most of my uses is Devcon 2-ton Epoxy. Not least because it's much faster curing than alternatives. It does trap air - most will settle out. Heat gun for perfect results!
