Health care costs are skyrocketing. Food prices continue to increase. Electricity rates are surging. And what is the Trump Administration and their rubber stamp Republicans focused on? Running and rebuilding Venezuela. We should be focused on rebuilding America and our economy.

Saddened to learn of the passing of Representative Doug LaMalfa. He represented his district well. I served with Doug in the California State Legislature and in Congress. My prayers are with his family and friends.

Trump incited an attack on our nation’s Capitol. Congress on a bipartisan basis impeached him for this dishonorable conduct. 57 Senators voted to convict. Brave law enforcement fought the mob and protected our Capitol. Trump will never be able to erase this stain on him. Ever.

It’s easy to use our amazing military to accomplish amazing missions.   But it’s always the day after that America has a lot of problems to figure out.   It’s now the day after, and this Administration has failed to articulate a real strategy.

Secretary Rubio basically said the use of military force would not occur without first coming to Congress to get authorization. He needs to explain why he straight up lied to Congress.

The military operation in Venezuela is flat-out illegal. Congress never authorized it. The American people want the President to help our economy, not oil companies.

As a former prosecutor, I know a grand jury would indict a ham sandwich. The refusal of multiple grand juries to indict Letitia James, along with statements by the Administration, show DOJ abused its power. Next term Congress will investigate DOJ officials for abuse of power.
