Nobody sees the Tome Keepers coming.

Just one game day in November. But one that racked up 34 games, including a few plays of one of the stars of Essen Spiel, Echoes of Time.

Blood Bowl pitch maintenance is not for the faint of heart!

October was the first month of the year I played more games with someone other than my wife. Bit of a slow month because it was very busy (including a trip to Spiel), but highlights include playing Sky Team in Düsseldorf Airport.

I love making a good stencil when I’ve got to paint the same thing over and over again. This t-shaped stencil can handle all three LI road plates: straights, Ts, and crosses.

Finished the main story of Ghost of Yotei. Absolutely a worthy successor to Ghost of Tsushima, and the pair are two of the best games I’ve ever played. Atsu’s story is now my favorite revenge tale.

Marvel United looks so good on the table.

Plays were way down in September, BUT it included playing Rome in a Day IN ROME! That’s gotta be worth bonus points!

I had so much fun with Sabretooth, I had to keep it going with Cyclops! Another quick and cheerful paint job.

Been in a bit of a painting slump, so to get back on the hobby horse I painted this quick little Sabretooth from Marvel United. It was really fun!

This summer I played Santorini in Santorini! To pull it off, I found and printed a nice little miniature Santorini board and pieces. I designed some nesting, removable trays to accommodate all the pieces some cards. It was a super fun project and a neat thing to tick off the bucket list!

Thanks to an extended visit from some good friends who were really keen on trick-taking games, August was a record month since I started tracking plays at the beginning of the year!

We had some friends in town for a couple of weeks, and the group got swept up with The Crew. So much fun! We really struggled with Mission 28, far more than any other. It was a huge outlier. Were there any missions you struggled with? Was it just us struggling on 28?

Yesterday was a day to celebrate as I officially became a British citizen!

July was a down month for board games, but an H-index of 3 for the month is pretty good!

Good sir, this last run of White Dwarf has been unquestionably, undeniably one of the all time best runs of the magazine that it has seen, perhaps as good or better than the early 2000's. I know, I have those ones too. Hold your head high on the way out, you did a great job.

I'm sorry to see you go, but I wish the best on your career forward! I consider the era you managed White Dwarf to be its Golden Age, and I'm consistently impressed with the quality of the magazine. I wrote my Master's Thesis on White Dwarf, and I've read a lot of it so when I say this I mean it!

I was given a frame of epic-scale British infantry from the Battle of Waterloo, and for the first time I’m tempted by Napoleonics.

Upgraded and cleaned my painting desk in preparation for some holiday hobby time! I do love a clean desk.

Eye lenses can be difficult and time consuming to paint, but I just discovered that painting them in an assembly line is actually very fast and fun!
