Used the pizza oven attachment yesterday as I was cooking for a gaggle of my 12 year old daughter’s friends. It’s a really fun way to get everyone involved even if it was a little smoky!

Anglo/Filipino family celebration for my daughters 12th birthday yesterday. The weather held and we feasted. And we drank, lots. Lots of Filipino beer.

Of course I saved one for myself..

First landing of Cornish sardines was in the early hours of Friday morning. Grilled over wood in East London on Saturday night. Olive oil, salt, pepper, lemon. I know fish and seafood can be expensive but this is incredibly good value and as good as anything that swims.

So many happy memories but if you grew up here in the 1970s and 80s it’s hard not to notice how much cleaner it is, that it is more interesting, less polluted, far less menacing. Obviously, there are huge problems. But, housing aside, it’s generally just better. London has fallen? Absolute bollocks.

I’m definitely in the right job. I’m like a kid at Christmas now these have arrived!

My daughter went into town for drinks with her friend yesterday afternoon. On Old Compton Street she was given free entry wristbands for Heaven. She went, curious to see where her parents had met. Rolled in at 4am this morning. Definitely her Mother’s Daughter.

I did some beef short ribs yesterday, took forever and I was quite pissed by the time we ate but they turned out pretty nice.
