first tonnato of the summer. niceoise vibe with the rest of the salad. you basically make a tuna mayonnaise beefed up with anchovies and then drop the dressed veg on top. that umami funk so delicious to mop up with baguette.

Well that went well. served Nigella’s delicious miso sesame chicken with Yam Taengmo which is Thai watermelon salad. basmati rice as out of jasmine. A lovely finale to a super chilled weekend with Lizzy and the boys 😊

three years ago today i made mouclade. it's apparently an old fisherman's recipe using a french generic curry powder. i used a japanese one and added diced apple along with breton cider and double cream. so delicious with french fries. i need to do it again.

butter chicken on the plate with brown basmati, naan, kachumber salad spiky with chilli, pickled red onions to cut through all that lovely dairy in the masala sauce.

found this lovely boy sleeping on our landing. his daddy is away and left us the keys so we could pop over and feed him but he’s just been pitching up at chateau Hass for brunch and dinner 😊 #minou 😻

fried chicken in a sweet asian-y chilli sauce with jasmine rice and smacked cucumbers. the cold green was lovely with the hot, crunchy red.

boned a couple of chickens and marinated overnight in a lemongrass spice paste before roaring in 250c bbq for 25 mins. gai yang with nam him jaew - sticky tamarind lime chilli fish herb sauce blend. with coconut rice & stir fried stem broccoli Thai style for a bit of green. top mother’s day scran ❤️

had some sausage leftovers I sliced and fried with garlic, onions, and some cherry toms from cyprus. stirred on passata, splash vinegar, tsp sugar and bubbled with some cream before adding gnocchi and cheese. bubbled under the grill. massive win 😊

chicken’n’chips with a parmesan and cream gravy.

I poached a brace of burford browns then whisked them up with kewpie mayo, chopped scallions, salt n pepper, on a toasted sourdough bagel. deserved a tear so have cracked open a can of coke to wash it down 😊

I ate so many of those crispy roasties. made from salad spuds from M&S. went hard and very hot as was also crisping that chook. smoky from the fat. really nice with that pressure cooker jus #foodsky

eight years ago today bunny and horse arrived into our lives 😻🐾

those gnocchi in reduced broth, booze and double cream with sliced pork chop, calabrian sausage, and broccoli made for a hugely satisfying dinner.

gratinated some gnocchi under apple slices in a reduced broth of stock, booze and double cream. served with pork chops and sausage again due to some fridge congestion/sell by pressure. delicious but perhaps a bit too heavy.

buttermilk brined fried chicken thighs with a masala crust, fries, green beans, masala garlic cream stock reduction sauce. had acid ted here for dinner 🫡

pork chops in a bootlegged sauce of vermouth, garlic, smoked paprika, fennel seeds, mustard, stock, double cream. served with wee spurs and cabbage. a midweek knockout 😊🥊

boned a chicken and marinaded in yellow curry paste with a few other bits to make gai yang with nam jim jaew which is a tamarind based dip. tender stem broccoli in a fermented bean paste with bird’s eye chilli and a heap of garlic. so delicious if a little scruffy on the plate 😊🥵🌶️

simmered bunch of coriander stalks in distilled vinegar with heap of sugar & salt. when cooled I added a diced long red chilli, an inch of grated ginger, two diced shallots, half a cucumber and half the coriander leaves. gonna use this to jazz up left red curry leftovers tonight. clean & green 😋

back at it with nigella’s marvellous coffee and walnut cake 😊
