Over the past two days, I have changed out of one pair of buffalo plaid pajama pants, which my teenage son got me for Christmas, and into another pair of buffalo plaid pajama pants that used to belong to said teenage son.

I had a fleeting disgust reaction seeing a male/female cardinal pair on a roll of gift wrap yesterday. Gay cardinals or naught.

Damn, why did I take it off before grocery shopping the Saturday before a major holiday? That would have yielded some āHow are you still alive?ā-caliber results.

I do know Fred Melamed's name, but I'm sorry: I will always call him Sy Ableman when I see him in anything. Probably not to his face? However, (1) there's little chance of me running into him, and (2) ONE NEVER KNOWS.

I love both One Battle After Another and Sinners, but if you don't think they're doing at least as much to work you over and get you to a certain emotional place as Hamnet is, I don't know what to tell you. There's no rule that it's okay to go for your adrenaline but cheating to go for your tears.

Iām not a big holiday decorator myself. But I do get a little judgy when othersā outside decor lacks a unified theme. A house in our neighborhood, for example, features an inflatable angel next to an inflatable axolotl in a Santa hat. Smdh.

Something I routinely mention about PREA is that it is designed to respond to (and allegedly prevent; but I have some thoughts on THAT imperative, too) sexual violence people experienced *while incarcerated*. The carceral state is the SOURCE of all violence being āaddressedā by PREA.

What if everything everywhere was designed with the intention of having many different people accessing it? People in wheelchairs, tall people, short people, fat people, elderly people, people with less than four limbs, blind and deaf people, people with chronic pain and illness, and on?

Today is the 70th anniversary of Rosa Parks' arrest. Six myths: 1) She wasn't old or tired. 42 years old that day, she had a "life history of being rebellious" & had spent two decades helping to turn the Montgomery NAACP into a more activist branch alongside ED Nixon and Johnnie Carr.
